> Force interrupt application - Command-Power key

That brings up the ROM Debugger (or MacsBug if you installed it,
presumably). You'll get a dialog box on the screen with

 >

in it. Quite what you can do with that, I have no idea. However, typing G
[return] returns to the current program, and typing G FINDER [return] will
apparently force the frozen application to quit.

This operation is higher than the bomb dialog, and Cmd+Power, G FINDER can
even make a bomb go away sometimes, as I discovered the other day.

Another useful tip is that you can live install and uninstall Control Strip
Modules. Drag a module onto the Control Strip, and it will be automatically
moved to the System Folder and placed on the Control Strip. To uninstall a
module, hold down the option key, and start dragging the module. If you drop
it elsewhere on the strip, it moves it along the strip, but if you drag it
off the strip, it will move the module file to wherever you drop it
(desktop, Trash etc), and remove it from the strip.

It doesn't always work (I got the bomb I G FINDERed trying to remove the
Audion CSM), but it generally does, and saves a reboot to add a module.

- Daniel.
