No expert, but when I had a long long boot time with 9.1 it was because it was searching for servers and stuff added to the keychain. Look in your system folder and find the file that says servers (I think) and throw out the 10 or so server shorcuts that may have built up. (You'll have to excuseme for bnot be exact, I no longer use a Mac, and it's been several months since I had the StarMax fired up.)
