Odd turn of events The Max is taking too long to locate programs when I double-click on apps, so I'm clearing out my drive of unwanted apps, including games I won't ever play (as opposed to merely don't play).
One of them bombed me out while at 640x480, and on reboot, the Mac reset to 1152x768. Oddly, once the extensions were all loaded, it reset me back to 640x480, which was unusual. Even more odd was that it caused a screen redraw which filled in the menu bar. This showed that the Finder was loaded - this was before the Long Pause. So, the long pause seems to be either the Finder, or a daemon - I had the Finder ruled out before. I wonder what it's doing? Maybe contextual menu plugins initialising? Or actually A-Dock loading? I'll have to check some time. Right now, Powerball is going in the trash. It was kind of it to reveal to me that the Finder is loaded, but if it's going to bomb me, out it goes. -- StarMax is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> StarMax list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/starmax.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/starmax%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
