cfgadm has been aware of every LUN (28 of them) all along. That's never been
the issue. Even when I get into the HBA's FastUtil! BIOS at boot time I can see
all 28 LUNs out there.

I should note that when I disable mpxio in fp.conf, reconfigure/reboot,
'format' shows 112 drives (28 drives x 4 FC links). Obviously, this is not a
desired result, but it does serve to illustrate that the HBAs can see all 28
drives out there.

It is only when multipathing is enabled that the problem manifests itself:
'format' shows 4 drives (LUN 0 of each Xserve RAID controller) instead of the
desired result of 28 drives (LUNs 0-6 of each Xserve RAID controller).

I've been a lurker on alienraid for a long time as well. I found nothing of
particular use to my specific scenario. A few tidbits about the Apple-branded
LSI HBAs not supporting mpxio, but nothing helpful for me. I'm using the
official Sun-sourced Qlogis HBAs (QLE2462)s.

Thanks for the feedback, though. Anyone else?
