Couldn't a ramdisk be used too? Maybe set aside 1G out of my 4G and
use that as a cache? Or would it be more valuable as normal RAM.

I doubt I will push more than gigabit. Most clients are Windows... I'm
lucky to get 200mbit. :P

I will try to remember the user creation piece. I'm happy to hear
everything works nicely out of the box, my friend has tried to push
Solaris variants on me for years, citing it to have the strongest NFS
besides for Netapps.

Is there one in Portland, OR? I should try to find that on the
