So do you have your card plugged into a normal PCI slot, or a mobo
with a PCI-X slot?

I suppose I'd want to get a mobo with a PCI-X slot to maximize my
available performance, if I go with that Supermicro card.

Also, it appears Areca cards (well, at least 2) are listed on the HCL.
I've had very good experiences and at the time I purchased my last one
it was the fastest on the market. Anyone have any pros/cons to Areca
vs. Supermicro/etc?

I'm wondering if 6 drives is enough too; I could add in a 4-in-3
adapter or something in that Antec but that would probably bump the
noise factor up... but would allow for a total of 10 drives to be
available.
