I specifically said "but that comes with the territory when you are 
dealing with world wide uniqueness in identifiers.". If an identifier is 
going to be world wide unique, it's not going to be pretty.

Yes you can, and that is not a world wide unique identifier, likely. And 
no one is saying that you cannot set the iSCSI target name. You can set 
the target name with the just integrated COMSTAR iSCSI target, so you 
are free to do so. But the name must still adhere to iSCSI qualified 
name standards.
