Dear Andrew

Rolf and you are both correct about the desirability of "condensing and recycling condensate to reduce water treatment costs.".

A concern I had was that the Steam Engine is being sold as a way to produce Distilled Water.

See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzPpa3WYQQA&feature=youtu.be

People not familiar with steam boiler operation may see the system as a good way to produce clean water.

Best wishes,

Kevin

That would be a bad way to go. Feeding highly mineralized water to the
boiler and evaporating off the steam would result in the minerals being
deposited inside the boiler. That can lead to boiler damage and/or
explosions.. In such an area where water is heavily mineralized, a "Boiler
feedwater Treatment Plant" would be required.

Which is exactly why he said to use the exhaust condensate as feed
water, it is pure and free of these minerals, so the only fresh feed
water needed is to make up for losses.
