Hi everyone,

I am Michelle Kibiger, and I have lived in St. Paul for about 4 years, the first 2.5 as a renter in Crocus Hill and the last 1.5 as a homeowner on the city's east side, right off White Bear Avenue. Born and raised in northwestern Hennepin County, I attended the University of Minnesota and moved out of state for several years to pursue a career as a reporter. In late 1999, I moved back to the state to work for the Legislature and located in St. Paul, where I will be happy to live out the remainder of my days.
I am a product of a religious school in Minneapolis.
I currently have no children, but I have plans to marry later in the year, and my husband-to-be's father is a retired public school teacher and is a product of the Richfield public schools. We are both very interested in the St. Paul school system, as we contemplate starting a family and what our options will be for educating our children. He also used to work for the state's Education Department.

I think the last time I was in a St. Paul public school was for an election judge training session at Arlington High School. Otherwise, I haven't spent too much time in the schools or getting to know the policies as well as I should. I also plan to change that, as I have read from some of you.

I live nearly equidistant from both Harding and Johnson High Schools, nearest Hazel Park Middle School (I think) and Prosperity Heights Elementary, which I walk/ride by in the warmer weather.

Also, I serve as assistant list manager for the St. Paul Issues Forum and have been involved as a volunteer in the organization since 2000.
