The public testimony in front of the council was orchestrated Tom (on both sides).
Kevin's job was to pull the tear jerker, "I am a young businessman and you'll put me
out of business if my customers can't smoke." Fluery's job was to be the angry at
government for interference in private business. Chuck Sincler was the rational, "I
have already taken all the smoking out of the restaurant, lets keep it in the bar."
I'm sorry I ain't buying it.

Kevin may be afraid of losing business and I feel for him, but the guy is located
smack dab across the street from the Xcel! His business is probably 100% dependent on
the government subsidized events that occur across the street from him. Wrong guy to
pull the tear jerker. Maybe he should have started out by saying I would have never
made a buck if it wasn't for the City of Saint Paul opening the Xcel Center, thank you
taxpayers for giving me that chance.

And Fluery, give me a break. This guy led the charge to get that money maker for the
hospitality industry paid for by City Tax dollars. Then he leads the charge for two
years that he has to have a baseball stadium to make a buck, but he was the first one
to turn and run when it was suggested that the thing be paid for by a liquor tax.
Government with one hand on his throat and one on his wallet, this guy and this
industry has got a lot of damn balls to say that while the tax payers are footing the
bill for his attraction.

And, Tom for your information I am self employed, and I haven't worked for Thune in 6
years.
