There was a recnet story about a Bae in uptown mpls, I forget the name, but it was a big Strib story with pictures and everything.
The jist of the story was that the bar/restaurant license required them to earn a certain percentage of their revenue from food. (50% 70%? I forget). They were not meeting the terms of their license, so they started selling a meal package that included some amount ($50 I think) worth of "Free drink" coupons. In this way, they could claim to be selling less liqour and lots of food. I bet we will see the same thing with the smoking rules, except that bar/restaurants will offer meal discounts with drink purchases. It is very easy to shift the revenue from one to the other. Whatever they do, the people who work in these bars will still be choking on toxic fumes. Jeanne Weigum said: > Yup. You got it.
