SEE there is an answer..... the companies that are hauling the trash should be doing this, trying to get more customers by offering lower rates for people that jump on their truck while it's already there.


No need for a Contract, prices can fluctuate as the number of people on the block pick and choose (or move)..... One company see's an increase in the number of people saying they have switched may try the same thing to get the customers back.

Only problem I see, is that the Mom-n-Pop places have far less ability to absorb losses than the big haulers can. Waste Management (just as an example) could easily run the Mom-n-Pop places out of business by taking losses in various area's for a period of time, cause they know that the number of hauler will reduce eventually and then they raise the rates on everyone.
