A total sell-out. Kelly is contemptible. So are those on the council that rubberstamp his (and the Chamber of Commerce's) agenda. No wonder people disrespect much of government - it is obviously more responsive to big money and corporations (Big Tobacco in this case) than in citizens, health, or simple justice.
Here is corporate domination, gripping StPaul with yet one more slimy tentacle. Eat the corporation! What to do with Kelly: kick'em out, kick'em out, kick'em out! All honor in this and many other matters to the better half of the new council: Thune, Lantry, Helgen, and Benenav! May they be joined by at least one more like them, and/or a new improved mayor! --David Shove Roseville On Mon, 13 Sep 2004, List Manager wrote: > And now for something different..... > > :-) > > Some "bad" news for smoking ban advocates and "good" news as well. > Some "good" news for smoking ban opponents followed by "bad" news. > > - Mayor Kelly officially vetoed the St. Paul ban. > > - But, Ramsey County appears on the verge of passing a restaurant > only ban that will affect St. Paul. > > ------------------------------------------------- > > Kelly vetoes St. Paul smoking ban > http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/9653188.htm > BY TIM NELSON > > "St. Paul Mayor Randy Kelly this morning vetoed a city-wide smoking > ban, only hours before county commissioners are set to ban smoking in > restaurants across Ramsey County." > > ------------------------------------------------- > > -- > Tim Erickson > List Manager > St. Paul Issues Forum > http://www.e-democracy.org/stpaul/ > Hamline Midway Resident > 651-643-0722 > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > St. Paul Links - http://www.e-democracy.org/stpaul/links.html > > "The St. Paul Issues Forum is a interactive e-mail discussion on > important issues about St. Paul public policy.
