Yahoo Tim! I've been thinking the city could be doing a better job of engaging the community through the district council system for a few years now. It would be really nice to see them do a better job of promoting the community council structure, making their contact information and Web sites more easily accessible, and building on the existing infrastructure to make Saint Paul the national model for civic engagement it has the potential to be! Kudos for bringing this up! >>Yet, our district council system really has very little to do with setting budget priorities for our city. So sad. Look at how the council members promoting and engaging the public through focus groups at their Web site. You ask GREAT questions which, of course, I'm not qualified to answer because I'm not sure there even is a process for citizen engagement in city budget discussions. --Jennifer Armstrong Payne/Phalen _____________________________________________ To Join: St. Paul Issues Forum Rules Discussion Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ____________________________________________ NEW ADDRESS FOR LIST: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To subscribe, modify subscription, or get your password - visit: http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/listinfo/stpaul Archive Address: http://www.mnforum.org/mailman/private/stpaul/
