To what extent, does the "personal" matter?
I'm afraid that the mayoral race in St. Paul is going to turn NASTY. I'm confident, that both republicans and democrats will resort to NASTY tactics. I'm even more certain, that most of us will resist the temptation and try to keep things productive.
I'm also confident, that there are great candidates who WILL NOT run, because of mistakes that they made 1, 2, or 20 years ago - that they do not want debated in public.
Is that in the best interest of the public?
What can we do now, to increase the likelihood of a positive and productive campaign from all sides?
Just something to think about over the holidays.
