(Can anyone report on last nights meeting?) (Was anyone there?) -------------------------------------------
On this topic, I would just like to remind folks that this isn't a black and white issue. It isn't about having either a tree filled linear part OR a freeway.
Many of us are talking about different things. There are many options for the future of Ayd Mill Road, many of them fall far short of a freeway.
1) Completely remove the road and make into
a linear park 2) Refurbish the road as a "parkway" with
speed controls and limited volumes of traffic,
along with a bikeway and other park "features".
Without any connection. 3) Refurbish the road as a "parkway" with
speed controls and limited volumes of traffic,
along with a bikeway and other park "features".
With existing connection at the South End. 4) Leave it as it is now. Connected at the south,
but not at the north, without improvements. 5) Go back to what is was, no connection on the
south or north, also without improvements. 6) Enhance the connection at the north, but without
direct access to I-94. 7) Create a direction connection on the North and
upgrading it to a REAL freewayCreative minds can come up with many more options.
Anyone have a create idea that's not yet been mentioned?
