OK - you show yours I'll show mine.

My name is Chuck Repke and I am a habitual poster to the forum. I have been
on the forum probably since it started or soon after. I was born in
Washington, DC but grew up on the West Side, graduate of Humboldt in (ouch)
1972. I
became active in the DFL the same year. Attended a precinct caucus went to
some
antiwar rallies and waited (with my bus ticket to Canada) for my draft number
to come up. It didn't but I have stayed active in politics and neighborhood
issues ever since. Went to the "U" to study corrections and worked in one
level or the other of the corrections system until 1990. I supervised the
counseling staff in a halfway house that handled parole cases (sex offenders -
others that the system felt needed additional supervision) ran domestic abuse
groups and helped start an electronic surveillance program. But in 1989 I was
campaign manager for Dave Thune, for City Council, he won and I took advantage
of
the opportunity to turn my avocation into my vocation.

I worked for eight years for council member Thune learning most of the
insides of how the City works. I also learned to have a lot of respect for any
of
them who are willing to give themselves in service to the public. When Thune
hung up his spurs at the end of 97, I worked the Ted Mondale for Governor
campaign...didn't win though...

So, since 1999 I have worn several hats I am the Executive Director of the
District 2 Community Council and the North East Neighborhoods Development
Corporation. They are the two non-profits that do planning and development the
far
eastern part of the City - East of Johnson Parkway (north of Minnehaha for D2
- north of 94 for NENDC). I also am a registered lobbyist with Saint Paul
clients.

On the mayor's race I like everybody. At one time or another I have worked
on all three of the candidates campaigns. I have known Randy since his first
house campaign, Rafael since soon after he came to Minnesota, and Chris since
before he could vote. I already know their answers to any of my questions.

On a personal note I am a father of a college student "CJ" who has already
been a state delegate to a DFL convention, has been a field staff person a
mayor's campaign and is serving on a task force of the CIB Committee. The love
of
my life is a young woman I met when she lived on Grand Avenue (see I don't
hate Summit Hill, Andy) Gloria Bogen. She is a fairly regular poster to the
forum.

I work very, very hard at not being sarcastic on the forum. I try, I really
do. Sometimes cute just becomes a little to cutting.

And I sign my posts with: Just My Opinion Not Those Of My Employers Past
Present Or Future "JMONTOMEPPOF" because for the first two or three years on
the
forum every time I would write something someone would say "Dave Thune's aide
Chuck Repke said" or then "Ted Mondale's political director Chuck Repke
said..." Or, worse they would say "didn't that guy who use to be Thune's aide
say.." I mean to tell you I thought someday some one would say "that former
sales
man at Dayton's Chuck Repke said... "

Oh, never mind...
