Midwest Tea Baggers are adamant about not cutting military spending.
Maybe in CA they are of a different mindset. This does not mean that I
am confused. It means the Tea Party stands for nothing.

In principle, I'm not opposed to privatizing city services such as police and
fire departments, but I'm not familiar the firm Xe that you mentioned.
As for the Tea Partiers, there is no Tea Party platform on any issue let alone
one regarding our military. Some Tea Partiers support military cuts, others
don't. Some support pulling out of Afghanistan, others don't. But since you
continue to erroneously equate them to Republicans, I understand your confusion.
Tea Partiers are consistent on a few things, namely reducing federal spending
and the size of federal government. Less federal government intrusion is also
high on their list. Many of them are Libertarians at heart.

I have advocated many times for the elimination of the local PD& hiring Xe,
but people just laugh.
Similarly, the Tea Baggers want to cut spending everywhere but on our monopoly
military.
Why can't we just use mercenaries?

"Religion, morality, and knowledge, being necessary to good government and the
happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be
encouraged."
That was written by the Congress of the Confederation of the United States. You
know, the same folks that wrote or ratified our US Constitution.
There are numerous examples of the importance of religion held by the founders
and framers of our US Constitution. The fact that you find that fact repulsive
or let your hatred of the republican form of government sway your perception of
history doesn't those facts are myth.
