It seems that this is a light bug in the Xsetup file where on linux
the logerr() function right at the top is incorrectly defined.
We can't think why this change should make any difference to this function.
Can you revert to the original form, and verify that that really changes
the behavior for you?
Any idea why that would make any difference? There are subtle
differences in the behavior of ksh for those two forms of declaration,
but none that should impact this simple function that we can see. It
would be good for us all to understand the real issue here, either to
clean up that page or fix the product as appropriate.
