Hello Craig,
As far as I know you have been working on Sun Rays just like me from the
start.
Having you still around is a good indication for me that things are ok.
As for the IKEA analogy.
IKEA furniture like most PC/Thin client products last 4 year maximum.
I think that by stating that Sun Rays last 10 years in real production
environments it would be clear that we are talking about craftsman ship.
As for the scaling advantage of PC's components and price.
Just wait till we have 20% of the market. These numbers will then
drastically change.
The plan to get there wil be the hardest part.
I honesty believe an entry level SRSS product will help a lot in the
market adoption of the Sun Ray.
Kind regards,
Ivar

Ha! I'm not saying I would have left if they didn't understand.
People may think many things of Oracle, but they do their homework.
Let's just say there aren't many pet projects going on. I'd be
looking for a job because Sun Ray wouldn't exist anymore.
I believe the future of our desktop portfolio brighter than ever under
Oracle. It's a good product, and thankfully the numbers were sound
enough to pass, but we also had a bit of luck. I know he's on this
list and I hate to brown nose, but the Desktop portfolio couldn't have
landed on a better desk than Wim's. A desk that is no doubt doing
something ultra cool with Sun Rays and VDI.
No response on the ikea furniture assembly to craftsman analogy? Man,
I thought that was the best part. tl;dr. ;)
