Many .avi files from Windows users are compressed with a codec called
DivX;-) The punctuation is part of the name of the codec.

Links to DivX ;-) Information on the Internet
mac.divx.st -- The DivX source for Mac users. Go to this website to find
links, software, support, and more.
DivX Player -- Download the DivX Player for Macintosh computers.
MyDivX.com -- It's not Mac related, but this website is the best source for
DivX related information. They have just about everything you could imagine
here. No joke.
Download.com -- Remember, you have to have Windows Media Player version 6.3
for the DivX Player to work.
Mac DivX FAQ -- Having problems with the DivX player? Go to this page for
help.
