OK, I presently have a s900 G3, and I have spent a lot of time getting it up
to comfort. But its a Newertech 300 1mb, and I still can't even find a
guide anywhere explaining those dip settings, and so I'm still stuck at a 43
bus speed. I've reached a plateau and may need to move on. Sure the
Newertech still works, but I've got a little extra cash right now and a bit
more zip would be cool.

Anyway, now I've got this G4 bug because I came so close to getting one.
And so I'm thinking, how are others with their s900's or j700's doing with
G4? Or is anybody running a G4? I remember a similar post to this in the
past but time has passed so maybe the feedback will be diff. I suppose
there are others who might be asking the same question about G4, so
hopefully the post will be beneficial.

I do understand there is no 6 slot issue with our machines, that's good.
But what about speed? Is there going to be a 'noticeable' difference
between a G3 and G4, say a 400mhz card? I don't play games on my computer
but do work with graphics programs a lot. I also want to install OSX as
soon as I can. Sadly, my internet page loading wouldn't gain a thing by the
extra speed due to being on a dialup. So what's to gain?

Is X the only bene of having a G4, or can we run it just fine with a G3 400?
What more would a G4 offer me that a G3 doesn't? I do like the idea of
having the daughtercard adapter (like XLR8's) which allows changing of the
processor in the future. Any more thoughts on this G4 dilemma others likely
face?
