I'd have to take an exception to that statement. In my own experience,
UltimateRez was much faster than TwinTurbo, both subjectively and using
benchmarking software. As a matter of fact, in optimal environment it was
somewhat faster for 2D than Voodoo3. It was definitely overpriced
originally. I mention "in optimal environment" because the situation got a
bit complicated with OS 8.6 and higher. Changes in QuickDraw made the card
slower with newer OSes and a new driver was produced by IXMicro to address
this issue. Unfortunately, some people had problems with the latest driver
and had to stick with the old one, which dropped its speed below that of
Voodoo3.
