The only extension for the Apple TT card is the "9600 Graphics Extension". When you installed OS 9.1 it probably installed that extension as well, which would give acceleration to the Apple TT card. The ixMicro version of the TT uses a different extension. The 9600 GE doesn't work on the ixMicro TT and the ixMicro extensions do not work on the Apple TT. This has caused endless confustion as folks purchase Apple TTs without a 9600 and try the ixMicro drivers to no effect, not realizing that they need the undescriptively named 9600 Graphics Extension.
