I haven't been following your saga very closely, but now I'm curious why you
got the fireweire drive over an internal ATA/IDE drive in the first place.
I, too, am in a similar situation - wanting to add HD storage, and I already
have a Orange Micro firewire card, and have been thinking about adding a 120
GB La Cie or Club Mac external firewire drive for about $300, which is
roughly the same price for an internal ATA/EIDE drive + the card. Is one
route better than the other?

Specifically, does the firewire interface offer any speed advantages over
the ATA/EIDE?

Thanks,
Stephen
