This is the last of my ramblings.
I post this for the benefit of folks venturing into firewire external drives in their
S900.
I finally confirmed that it is the firewire portion of the external case that is the
problem, not the hard drive
itself.
Plugged in another EZQuest drive and it mounted normally and I was able to trash and
reconnect the drive, which
also mounted normally.
So...it's good to know at least there is not a problem with the DeskStar 60-GXP drive
itself, which is what's
enclosed.
Once again, if anybody knows of any problems with the firewire portion of an external
drive going south, I would
appreciate feedback.
Time to ship off the drive for warranty replacement.
