Windex is mentioned as a good cleaner.
Dribble some on the landing pad as well on the puncture posts and let it soak in
for a few minutes.
I install a fresh cartridge to reprime and clean the jets afterwards.
Although there is no guarantee that the cleaning routine will work,
a new cartridge will increase the odds by a long shot.
(For a six color photo printer, this is at least around $35 for the two Epson
cartridges.)
But with new (usb) photo printers going for around $99, Epson makes money by
selling more printers
and keeping the users busy feeding them with ink.
Some of us still using serial Photo printers have to keep up a healthy routine
for our printers instead of getting sucked into Epson's scheme of things.
