Ford, I don't think my corrupted fonts problem was an issue with the ATA100 card. I have just over 500 fonts in my system. (which is why I own a font management program too) From what I could tell, a couple of them did not copy correctly from the old drive to the new, using Retrospect, and that caused problems with the Adobe Type Manager Deluxe database. After much hair-pulling I discovered that ATM was what was causing the system to hang during booting.
I also had problems with the ATM database staying "tied" to the font database on the 18GB SCSI drive. Reformatting and removing the 18 GB SCSI drive was what caused the biggest problem with ATM. In any case, I was planning to put the 18 GB drive in the c600, and put the 4 GB back into the 9600, where it was originally. I plan to keep a copy of OS 9.1 on the 4 GB SCSI drive, along with utility programs for running maintenance on the new IDE drive connected to the Sonnet ATA 100 card. I have not had any problems with video or audio stuttering with the Sonnet card and IDE drive. But then, I don't do any video and very little audio. Sonnet does have a Control Panel to help with those problems. If you read the "more info" stuff on OWC's web site, apparently the VST card can have the same stuttering problems. As is always the case, when we band-aid together our upgrades, everybody's mileage will vary. Nancy > Bailey wrote: > > It's been fine for a while now without the SCSI drive.
