Well I need to temporarily set aside the IDE Zip issue to figure out a more
pressing problem. I mentioned this before but no ideas have come forth as
of yet. I could really use some help on this situation too.

Like Jacqueline, I have had the problem with my second scsi drive not
mounting at start-up. I'm not sure this is connected to the following, and
I can live with it simply by using any mounting software.

The big problem is, at cold startup where nothing mounts. I can hear the
drive begin to spin and then nothing. Interestingly, it won't even default
to a scsi drive. I began using the VST IDE and the 15 gig ide drive as the
startup. This problem began when I switched over. In the beginning, it did
this only intermittently. Now it happens every time during a cold boot.
Normal restarts are no problem.

When I start up cold, I have to do a cpu power-off and then can re-start
using the regular keyboard power key. Keyboard restart when its frozen
doesn't work. If I restart within 30 secs, it will boot up successfully. I
changed the battery but this didn't help. Cuda and zap pram didn't help.

My guess is its related to the VST as boot up but I could be wrong. I'm not
sure its related to the second scsi drive not mounting issue. I upgraded
the firmware but this didn't help either. It also started this before I
tried the Zip drive and continues now with it disconnected. I wrote OWC
but they only suggested I change the battery.

So once again I am fulfilling my duty of providing the list with challenging
issues everyone can learn from. :) OK, that's bs, I am having one of those
hard to solve problems Will likes so much.

Thanks everyone in advance,

Dave
