Thanks for the replies from everyone!
First of all I'm not trying to do anything illegal. I had to call for
tech support a few months ago. My connection was down. When the tech
guy asked for the ID address my machine as showing. It came up I was
using a router. He didn't say anything at all. By the way in case
some of you don't know. Many/most /all? routers come with firewall
built into them for no extra charge. I'm also using Norton Personal
firewall. I set it up before I got the router. I shouldn't still need
it but just never disconnected it. Cable modem can be trouble with
no firewall I'm told! Mine got pinged from day one but they couldn't
get in since it's a Mac!It's possible to get into a Mac but not
nearly as easy. OSX on the other hand being UNIX is easier then
classic Mac to get in! So I'm told I know little on the subject...
Comcast bought ATTBI and AT&T cable like last week! At least
the shareholders of both companies voted to sell/buy it. So unless
the government/ FCC says no they will soon be the worlds largest
Cable and broadband company. The combined companies will be keeping
the well known AT&T trademark! Someone mentioned Comcast not liking
Routers being used...
Well I guess I will continue as is and if they turn it off oh
well...I bought a cable modem to save $10.00 a month then they raised
the price for people who own modems by $7.00 a month. They are
ruthless at getting their money....The service has been really great
for nearly 2 years.... Will S
