I just got an email from ATTBI(cable broadband) to the effect that
anyone using more then one IP address will have their second IP
address disconnected unless they sign up to pay for a second IP
address. This looks like a general note sent to all customers. I am
under the impression that when using a router to share one connection
you are only using one IP address. I have a PC and my UMax connected
with a D-link router which works fine but at the time I set it up
only the PC using Internet Explorer would connect to D-links web page
to set it up. So I'm wondering if this means AT&T can tell it is
hooked to a PC as the primary connection when I signed up for a Mac
connection? Someone here said it is now possible to use the newest
Internet explorer on a Mac to setup a D-link router maybe I should
reset things to be on the safe side. I am reasonable sure I'm only
using one IP address and only use the PC internet connection for one
application. So I hate to pay for 2 connections and would likely
disconnect the PC rather then pay more. Broadband is all ready enough
for one connection! Comments? Will S
