Well, maybe many, but definitely not all.  There was a point in '98 at which
just about everyone inside Umax got fed up with FWB's driver problems and we
started formatting our own HD's with Drive Setup.  Can't recall which
version, but at some point it started working with the SCSI Quantum and IBM
drives we used in the S and J boxes.  (It had been working with the IDE
Western Digital drives in the C boxes for a while.)

I don't believe Drive Setup ever worked with the Micropolis drives we used,
and I can't recall how it fared with our Western Digital drives.

I don't believe it was ever a matter of choice.  I don't think Apple
offered.  UCC stayed competitive by working with whichever drive and driver
vendors would give us the best volume pricing.  FWB and Western Digital were
great in this regard.  Micropolis was terrible to work with.
