Hi there I've just joined this list having been using an S900 (pulsar) for a while but have come up against a problem I can't figure out. My machines specs are: 604e/200, 128mb ram, Mac OS 7.6.1, Seagate HD external Zip Drive and a 8x Matsushita CR 506 CD Rom that won't boot from startup. It works fine when I boot up from HD and then stick a CD in, but I want to run Norton DD on it and can't get the thing to boot up from the CD. I've tried holding 'C' key down (as per the handbook) No go. and Changing the Startup disk. No go. I have tried using Resedits modified Apple CD Rom driver 5.4.2 (which works fine) but it still won't boot on starting. The original system CD won't go either, surely it must have once! When I try starting up from the CD, the light comes on and the disk starts to spin up and whirr, and then it just kind of gives up and boots from the HD instead. Have I got a non-bootable CD Rom, a broken one or am I missing something?
