what version of norton do you have? part of the problem may be the os, i think 7.6.1 is a little old for that machine, but i'm not certain. might also be a dirty cd or a problem with the drive. do you have tech tool or another diagnostic program you could use to test the drive thoroughly? the "C" key trick won't work on non apple drives, but selecting it as boot disk should. have you checked the scsi termination and checked for id # conflicts? either of these could cause boot problems but possibly allow the drive to more or less work. is the cd rom internal or external? have you tried unplugging the zip drive?
