Greg, I'm taking a stab at your post although I've never owned an Ultimate Rez. Scary huh? But if it's anything like the TwinTurbo (same manufacturer) there should be a control panel that allows for turning off a 'sync on green' option, among other settings. You didn't list a control panel below, which makes me wonder if you've overlooked it. Perhaps some other listers with Rez cards will chime in on the associated control software for the Rez. > Will I need to disable the internal Cache (J38 ?) as per previous > discussions on this list? In OS 9 your Sonnet upgrade card software will have a setting to disable the motherboard cache. If you're thinking of trying OS X, and if Sonnet doesn't have an X version of their upgrade card software, there are other options, particularly one called 'CacheControlX' that will disable the motherboard cache, among other things like processor cache ratio. > Also I am trying to understand how the video extension software works > and what is really needed. > Are the following extensions needed? > > Apple IX3D Graphics Accelerator > Apple IX3D RAVE Engine > Apple IX3D Video Memory Manager I would think that all the above should definitely be enabled. > ATI 3D Accelerator > ATI Driver Update > ATI Graphics Accelerator > ATI MPP Manager > ATI Rage 128 3D Accelerator > ATI REsource Manager None of the above need be enabled unless you want to use an ATI card, or in the case of ATI Graphics Accelerator... if you have an ATI chip for onboard (built-in) video. > Built-In Graphics Accelerator > 9600 Graphics Accelerator Nope. In fact when this extension loads you'll notice a red 'X' on it's icon, indicating it isn't loading and isn't needed. > Thank god this support group exists!
