Sounds to me like an unsupported resolution has bunged up your monitor.
There was some talk here on the list about this a few months back. I'll
rescan my old messages and try and come up with something. Hopefully some
others will pick up on this thread too.
Just out of curiosity are we talking about an S900 or a J700? And which slot
is your video card in? Try the top two slots (referring to an S900) for your
video card if you haven't already.

I'm not familiar with Sonnet upgrades (I have an XLR8 upgrade) but they all
have associated control panels for setting up their cards. Find the right
file at the above link and you should be able to disable your motherboard
cache with no problem.

Yes, that is a definite clue. For some reason it would seem that your NVRAM
is becoming corrupted. Are you using an E100 SCSI card as well? It was the
UltraWide SCSI accelerator that some S900's shipped with.

Hang in there Greg, we'll drag a few others in, and get some concrete ideas
going.
