Hello Howie, Thanks for the info. Your the only reply I got :( I tried your suggestions and I have added my response.

I tried this and it didnt seem to help. I have found an odd problem in that if I activate the drivers that come with the card (iX3D ..), including the control panel I get the same messy screen but on top of this I get strange looking cursor (small white rectangle) that will not go any lower than the middle of the screen. If I use only the apple ix3d drivers (Apple ix3d ..), I still have the messy screen but at least I have a cursor that works properly. The ix3D control panel will not work with only the apple extensions installled. This is getting me down as I cannot get on with my work and am wasting alot of time troubleshooting this. I'll try writing to Sonnet too. > > Will I need to disable the internal Cache (J38 ?) as per previous > > discussions on this list? > > In OS 9 your Sonnet upgrade card software will have a setting to > disable the > motherboard cache. There is no such software with the installation disk. So do I have to jumper j38 or is there any other software that can do this on OS 9.1 Thanks again for your help and look forward to any other suggestions. Do you have any idea as to why the video is OK after zapping PRAM? Does this mean that there is some configuration data stored in the PRAM that when removed the video behaves correctly. If so, how can I change this? Greg G -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
