The black screen is usually caused by the CPU running too fast so it 
overheats right after startup. At least that is what my conclusion 
is..... All your other settings look fine, although if you are in OSX 
you can turn Speculative Access on and you will probably gain another 
small speed increase. Always keep it off when running 9.x though.

This is a problem that I am working on right now. I really want my chip 
up around 330Mhz, which it will do, but it overheats. Anyone want to 
throw out some ideas?

*MUCH* better than 10.1.5 :) Especially on these older machines.
