I received a G4 Chip (OWC) a few days ago and installed. Some notes..the new
chip has no jumpers..as the xlr8 did (What were they for?) and I can't seem
to be able to get this G4/450 clocked any higher than 400. I've set the
switches (on card) according to my XLR8 manual, but If I boot (Xpostfacto
2.2) above 400, to 450 it seems to freeze in the boot process where it
checks the "backside cache" (X Splash) I'm puzzled... I'm using Powerlogix
Cache Control X (to view) the machine, It has run flawlessly with the
original xlr8 G3/400, overclocked to 450 for months. Running 10.1.5...1 gig
ram...VST 66 ATA...Radeon 7000 PCI. Here's the kicker I CAN overclock to 500
If I'm running classic which is 9.1 and it runs fine. Will S. and Robyn
Lyons Are you There? thanks for your previous insights...Phil Meza
