That is where I figured it would be, I looked all over that area but didn't see it. I'll take another look next time I open my machine. Yea, you would figure that it would be something that nobody would remove, but the back half is missing. Fortunately there are still two mounting holes so I can install a drive there, I just need to find the right size screws.
This may have been one of the last ones sold, but everything else points to it being older than that (rev a. board, j38 pins factory installed, etc.). I know it wasn't a frankenstein machine because this one was owned by the University of Illinois as a new machine. Does anyone know where I could get a cage for this? I had to pull out an HD because of a processor heatsink thing I installed blocks the lowest horizontal HD bay.
