PB = Power Good.

This is a feedback of the 5V supply from the motherboard back to the
PS. On power supplies where this feature is implemented, the PS will
turn itself off, if the voltage on the PG line is out of bounds. For
example, if PG was delivering 4.5V back to the PS, instead of 5V,
that would probably indicate a short condition on the MB, and the PS
will shut off to avoid smoking anything. From what I've heard, most
cheaper ATX supplies don't really implement this feature in any
useful way.

PS-ON = Power Supply On.

This is the Power-On line. On an ATX supply holding PS-ON at 5V
keeps the PS turned off. Changing the PS-ON line to 0 V (i.e. GND)
turns the power supply on. This is also the way our Umax power
supplies handle power on.

Apple Macintosh machines hold PS-ON at 0V to keep the supply off, and
connect it to 5V to turn the PS on. This reversal makes adapting an
ATX to an Apple machine a little more difficult, but not too
challenging.
