I finally get my battery and 2 64MB EDO RAM sticks to spiff up my C500 while I work on the S900 and all of a sudden the monitor won't stay on! It powers up, but while the C500 is making its usual getting ready to work sounds,the monitor's power light clicks off and i never get a picture. I had a new multiscan 14 here that i bought as an emergency back up monitor, so I pulled it out and set it up--still no picture. Because the multiscan is brand new, I have no way of knowing for certain if the problem is the C500 or whether I'm just having another streak of monitor evil. (About 5 years ago I once went through 3 monitors in 2 weeks) I need your collective wisdom, gang. Could this be a side effect of the PRAM battery problem? If i go ahead and replace the battery could that fix it? Or would I be better off (gasp!)taking it to the local mac guy and having the onboard video looked at? Normally i would say money is the deciding factor, but i'm sitting here typing on my folks' windoze machine and i hate it, so getting my own machine up and running ASAP is a priority.
