You must be talking about some sort of add-on device for a VHS deck that
records audio in place of the video track?  I certainly don't think that
standard VHS's AUDIO track is higher resolution than CDs, is it?

I seem to remember seeing a Sony Betamax device that could do this, (turn a
VCR into a high quality audio-only recorder) but I've never seen a VHS
version.  Some quick Google searching turned up nothing for me.  Got a link
to more information?  Or a product name?
