Don't forget about Stuffit Expander. Pretty much the WinZip of the Mac 
world. You can still get a copy that works with Classic OS. I believe 
that the last one to do that was version 5.5. You can get it from 
version tracker. IIRC it also can handle .zip .tar. I don't remember if 
it can do multidisk though, I know that the deluxe version can.
