Sorry for not being clear.  I was talking about an internal zip.

The internal drive we have just sort of sticks its head through a hole 
in the faceplate, in much the same way a CD drive does.

I suspect that face plate on the external drive is just a pretty 
covering over the eject button and indicator light that I see on the 
face of our internal drive.

I have not taken our external drive apart, so I don't know about the 
SCSI connectors.  Internal zip just connected to the SCSI chain cable 
and power cables.   The external one is 25pin, but it could have an 
adapter inside.  I don't know.
