Hi Chuck-
As other will tell you the S900 is perfect for what you want to do. I 
have been doing work in Photoshop with large images-80-100 megs. I've 
also done a lot of work using Illustrator and I design using 
QuarkXpress. Because of the Photoshop work I have my RAM maxed out. 
You don't need to max yours to work with graphics,  but it's probably 
the best upgrade you can make. Here are the specs of my machine. If 
you have any questions, I'm sure myself and others can provide 
details and some better alternatives to what I have.
