Hi Chuck, Must remember that best designer do not need any computer at all. They have an assistants for that. Sharp pen is enough.
There is no any technical trick to be a designer althought software makers really try to make you believe. Even if you own the very latest double processor mac with all softwares and dimms earth gives you ... Amen. I have never used Ms Office really. I have 4.2. and something under thick dust in the book-case. There was lots of problems while using it and all problems went away when finally uninstall that software. There is many free and shareware software for .doc and .rtf text editing like icWord. Do you really wan't to pay from year to year using some software like Microsoft is asking nowerdays.
