Although the printer being non-AppleTalk used to be an issue, with OSX it
is not a problem at all. Hell my HP LaserJet4000 doens't even have
ethernet! I had it connected to a Win98 laptop and used printer sharing.
OSX was able to handle it fine (it's a hidden feature, but there) without
any extra software. I moved that printer to a D-Link DI-704P router with
built-in print server, once again, OSX didn't have a problem.

Just realize that the printer isn't going to make itself known. You'll
have to tell the machine where it is at. If it is a PostScript printer, it
doesn't matter if you have drivers or not, once you have told the machine
where it is at, and the proper protocal (LPD, IP, etc) it'll work.
