9.1 is the highest you can go without involving any workaround, which is necessary if you must have 9.2 and beyond. And 9.1, at least for me, has been very stable since day 1. Dispite many listers' success stories on loading 9.2X, the thought of it tires me out. Before 9.1 I was using 8.6, which was also very stable. Just personal experience/preference.
