On a separate thread, I'm running 8.1 on the Umax and have been considering moving to 8.6 or 9.2.2
Any tips or recommendations much appreciated.
Hi John,
Glad to know the Umax lives. How is your foot?
8.6 is a nice OS, but OS 9 is even nicer, in my opinion. You will not be able to run 9.2.2 without hacking the OS. However, 9.1 will run nicely without any hacks. It has been running on our C600 for over a year with zero problems. 9.2 is pretty much the same as 9.1. 9.2 has extras, so it will operate as the Classic environment for OSX.
Of course, the biggest pain is upgrading all of your other software/applications . :-)
